Elaho River Whitewater Day Trip

The day trip features an exhilarating class IV whitewater descent through towering canyons and past cascading waterfalls. The fun begins with a run through the Elaho River’s revered “Devil’s Elbow”. Ahead of you a gauntlet: on your left, two impressive curlers affectionately known as “Dynamic” & “Disaster”, jutting cliffs frame the river’s edge. From there, you continue through a multitude of class II, III, and IV rapids.

Absorb the breathtaking vistas as you pass glacier-peaked mountain ranges shrouded in forests of cedar, hemlock and fir. The crystal waters of the Elaho take you swiftly into the glacial-silted Squamish where the “Fun Rapid” and the ever-popular “Surf City” serve as warm-up for the dazzling “Steamroller” Rapid, where 10-14ft standers and haystacks have you screaming with glee at every wave. Catch your breath and look back at cathedral-like Mount Cayley and its volcanic pyroclastic peaks.
