| Moisture sweeps in off the ocean, creating snowstorms that dump on dozens of nearby peaks, including 8,782-foot Mount Garibaldi, and Alpha and Omega, both over 6000 feet and Whistler-Blackcomb 30 miles northeast of Squamish. Come spring and summer, the prodigious snowmelt fuels 5 kayaking and rafting rivers. The 200 miles of biking routes in the area range from gentle to forest tight switchbacks.
